Clear Eyes. Full Heart. Can’t Lose.

The Shorthorn. Since 1919. Arlington, Texas.

If you know, you know.

Journalism has always been a blast. I started reading at a very young age. My mom and sister will often brag about they found me reading a newspaper at the age of three. I had my first published works before ten, and I would be an award-winning poet before leaving high school.

I wouldn’t visit journalism again, until out of the Marines. I made deadlines daily for one of the best collegiate newspapers in the Nation, and I also moonlighted as a co-host for a few podcasts, radio shows, and started a reputable media sports outlet.

Then, I just stopped. Some call it writer’s block, some call it fear. I called it “Working too damn hard to not be making enough money in this field. I came to the quick realization that DFW is a Top 5 market for journalists, meaning that I would have to move away in order to advance my career.

Dallas-Fort Worth is not a place where you begin your career - It’s a place where you retire.

With this great intelligence, and a beautiful infant daughter to care for, I had to make the right move at that moment.

Journalism has always been a passion, and I will always find different ways to do what I love.
